Hot August Night

And the needles hanging down

and the grass on the ground the colour of wheat.

We moved up the road to the outside of town

and the sound of the bathers getting relief from the heat.

A crowded table where there ain't no tree

And that group telling you and me

"Pack the swim buddies and grab the old fuddies and everyone goes

'Cause everyone knows

The Lake's in repose."

It was a rare calm evening for the eight of us who took advantage of the 24 degree glassy water and smokeless air for a beautiful swim yesterday. Admittedly the boat wash was considerable, especially once we got over to the Cosens Bay side, so much so that it churned up the deeper water to cool the water by about 3 degrees. "I'm glad I wore my wetsuit" said Alison. "This is so refreshing!" said everyone else. It was great to see Kylie back and still finishing with fly after being out of the lake for so long.

After such an enjoyable swim, just about everyone was keen to be back to do it again on Thursday at 5:30pm.

Cheers,

Mike
