Hello Kal Lake Swimmers:
Only four of us braved the slightly smokey air for a leisurely swim to the Point and back. All of us swam naked in the 24 degree water. Except for some boat wash and a few 1cm high ripples, we enjoyed lovely calm water.
Of course, after such a taxing warmdown swim to the Point, we were in dire need of restorative nourishment, and the ice cream boat coming around the Point had just the thing! Thanks to the modern technology on Dana's phone we were all treated to our favourites. We decided that it was great to be parents ourselves, free from the "It'll spoil your dinner!" admonishments we used to get when we were younger.
Now, suitably stocked with sufficient caloric intake, we were able to continue our warmdown-paced float back to the beach. Here's to dessert before the main course more often!
We will do this again on Thursday at 5:30pm, smoke or ice cream notwithstanding. Darin and/or Sean will lead the way.
