Hello Kal Lake Swimmers:
The Summer Wind
Came blowing in
From across the lake
It lingered there
Chasing the smoke
Away in its wake
So warm and fair
All summer long
It leaves a chop
The swimmers cope
And still complain
When will it stop?
Yes, the brisk summer wind faced the ten of us (90% naked) who braved the chop yesterday afternoon. With the water temperature at 25 degrees at the beach and 23.5 degrees at the Point no one was complaining about the cold. In fact, the return past the white buoys felt like crawling into a warm bath. Everyone made it to the Point and a few ventured to look around the corner into Cosens Bay but no further.
Summer Wind notwithstanding, we will do this again at 5:30pm on Thursday and also at 8:00am on Sunday morning.
Every year we make at least one trip to the creperie food truck parked in Sovereign Park on Sundays. Let's make this coming Sunday the one where we all reward ourselves with crepes after our swim.
I also want to congratulate Carole, Kylie and Robynne who earned their Level 1 Open Water certification last weekend in Penticton. All three were a great help in making the swim a success!
Cheers,
Mike
