Hello Kal Lake Swimmers:

We knew we were in for it when we saw the windsurfers out on our way to Kal Park. However, the waves did not deter the seven of us who ventured out in 23.5 degree water on a windy and sultry 31 degree evening. Five of us swam naked while two were still attached to their rubber coverings. The route out gave us a good view of the shoreline as we hugged it closely. At the Point it was a quick consensus that we turn back although Kylie swam an additional 40 metres just to check it out. Stopping at the Point was not at all restful as it was an effort to avoid being carried away by the waves (or pounded into the rocks!). We all did enjoy the ride back to the beach, other than watching out for boats that had been cruising into "our" bay. How dare they!!

The winds will be much calmer for our swims at 8:00 on Sunday as well as the holiday Monday (For those few of you who still believe me).

Cheers,

Mike
