Hello Kal Lake Swimmers:
With the temperature approaching 37 degrees last night the 23 degree water felt nice and cool to skin for those of us who managed to beat the heat. We only had one of us in a wetsuit but only five of us swam naked as three others "contaminated" their swims with pull-buoys and flippers.
Six of us ventured out to the Painted Rocks while three turned back at the Point. With the exception of the boat wash, the lake was fairly calm, especially on the Cosens Bay side (even though nobody believed me when I said it would be so). We were cautious on the walk back up to the parking lot as Kylie had said that there were "extra bear" signs in the park.
Hopefully we will have as many or more beating the heat on Thursday at 5:30pm. With the Long weekend coming up and the continued hot weather, we will hold swims at Juniper Beach at 8:00 on both Sunday and Monday. Hope to see lots of you there.
Also remember to register for the Winter Black Line swimming. Residents of Vernon, Coldstream, and Areas B and C can register now. If you live outside these areas, you will have to wait until September 5th and hope that the program is not full. Hopefully we can save a spot for Sean, our Lane 1 leader.
Cheers,
Mike
