Hello All!
It was a small group that came together for this evening's swim and so it falls to this unlikely narrator to recount today's swimming experience.
Four of us met at the picnic table at Juniper Bay this beautiful (and hot!) Tuesday evening. Only one was foolish enough to be clad in neoprene (and it was me, I will admit. Testing of a sleeveless wetsuit was on tonight's agenda.) After determining that our group of four was it, we headed for the water. Without Mike's trusted thermometer for accurate temperature measurement we determined that the water was certainly cooler than the 35° air and thank goodness for that.
Tim, David, Monty and I set off for the point, dodging boats and people to get there and whereupon landing we were also joined by John. Monty turned back and the remaining four of us set out for the illustrious Painted Rocks!
It was a rocky trip there and back with boats having little (but enough!) concern for our swimming group.
Overall, it seems that the entirety of tourism to Vernon might have been in Kal Park and on Kal Lake this evening and this small group did its best to represent the local population.
I'll hope to see a few out this Thursday at 5:30pm and otherwise perhaps bright and early on Saturday morning for the different Kal Lake Across The Lake Swim distances.
Charmed to be here,
Olivia
