A Silly Swim Report

Is this a silly swim report, or is this a report of a silly swim? We began with multiple stories of silly (dangerous?) drivers on our way to the lake. Then the 29° air made putting on wetsuits very silly, yet 2 of the 9 swimmers wore what Mike calls wuss-suits (I’ll leave you to guess if I wore mine or not). Hint: we had no thermometer to measure lake temperature, but my ankles and then wrists felt like the temperature was unchanged from Sunday’s swim.

The strong wind racing up the valley caused whitecaps large enough to make swimming past the point silly, yet 5 of us ventured to Painted Rock through the waves which were described as silly, spirited, frisky, and maybe even fun! On the way back, swimming with the waves from Rattlesnake Point into the beach was nothing but fun…except when we were passed by our own swim buddies and tangled in the leashes.

I think we would all consider this silly evening swim a success and hope to see you all in the water again on Thursday at 5:30.
