With all the singing going on at the start of so many sporting events today we thought it only appropriate to get into the act by singing Happy Birthday to the Tangerine Twit (Darin's moniker) from our neighbouring country. The first picture shows our special salute while we were singing.
(I wore orange for an entirely different reason today)
As can be seen, conditions were an order of magnitude better than last week. As a result, we had exactly an order of magnitude more swimmers, 10, including Monty, Alison and Darin for their first time this year. With the water temperature up to 16.8 degrees, we entered the water with only sporadic whimpering. Robynne and Kylie had started about two hours earlier and were in taper mode by doing the Cosens Beach swim only about one and half times. They will be leaving for England on July 2nd to do their solo Channel swims and look to be doing an outstanding job in preparation. Wish them luck and good weather conditions when you see them.
They did inspire Sean and Gary to go all the way to the second point near Cosens Beach with Robynne when they met up. Alison and I were content to turn around at Gary's log while Darin, Sarah, Jake and Monte went shorter distances but well into Cosens Bay. Sarah and Sean joined Kylie and Robynne swimming naked.
This week we will be starting our afternoon swims on Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30pm. Hope to see several of you there especially as there is only one Masters morning swim this week on Wednesday. Friday and Sunday pool swims are cancelled for the Kokanee Swim Meet.
Jake also invites any early birds to join him and others every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5:30am from Alexanders starting this week.
As emails will be coming more often now, I just want to confirm my pledge not to use any AI in their generation. Having a long history of socializing with several of you I fully anticipate that you have interpreted this to mean that the emails will be devoid of any Actual Intelligence.
