Hello Kal Lake Swimmers:
With the air and water temps at 11.5 and 12.5 degrees respectively seven (insert your adjective here) souls set out from Juniper Beach at approximately 8:00 this morning. It took a few minutes to work up the courage to actually swim once immersed. Three of us wore wetsuits while Kylie, Phred, Robynne and Sean swam naked. Phred just wore his brand new suit that had everyone asking where the dimmer switch was. Sarah turned back after about 300 metres while the others stopped briefly at the Point. Cindy and I turned back from there while the nakeds all swam 3.3k to Gary's log and back. (insert exclamation here, no need for censorship).
The swim through rippled water was quite doable although I did have 10 toesicles at the end.
The weather this coming week will be warmer so next Sunday's swim at 8:00 will be even easier. I look forward to seeing even more of you then.
Cheers,
Mike
